You can obtain your AHA BLS Certification at CPR Training Portland in just two phrases. The first phase involves engaging in a self-paced series of online training modules. The online portion can take between 30 minutes and 2 hours, depending on your prior experience. Once you have completed the online part, you will move on to the second phase, which includes hands-on skills practice and testing at our facility. The session uses a voice-assisted manikin(VAM) and lasts between 30 minutes to 1 hour. While instructors won’t be physically present during the skills session, they will be available for assistance if needed, with guidance provided by the computer and the manikin.
For BLS recertification, CPR Training Portland also offers renewal courses. BLS certifications are valid for 2 years from the date of issuance. To renew, you should enroll in the BLS classes before your certification expires. Previously, there used to be 60-day time period to renew the certification. However, the AHA no longer offers this grace period. You can check your expiration date in your BLS certificate and apply before it. If you apply before, you’ll only need to complete a skills test, which takes about 20 minutes to 1 hour.
If you don’t renew it before the expiry date, you’ll need to complete both the online training and skills testing to recertify.
